HM Luxury Prerunner
The ultimate in comfort, reliability, and performance all in one package. The concept behind this build and rehab was to have the perfect truck to prerun races, maybe race in Norra, go on Baja adventures and be able to drive it to the desert and back.
HM originally built this truck for a client with high expectations. The cage is Score legal, yet has easy entry for daily driving(add a door bar and race it). The motor and transmission are all stock for OEM reliability. The huge Harmon fuel cell has the reliable stock OEM fuel pump and filter. Essentially the drivetrain, electronics and fuel system is all original equipment. Coupled with swingset steering and a 10” rear axle with jumbo 36 spline axles, it’s safe to say this truck is almost bullet proof.

So on to the rehab…
In Summer of 2025, the truck went through an extensive rehab. Dezert Trucks invested over $40,000.
In May 2025, the truck was taken to Mejia Metalworx, and all of the suspension was removed completely down to bare chassis in hovercraft mode. The whole front kit was stripped down and powder coated. The rear links, axle housing and diff were all stripped to bare metal and painted in Steel-It. The chassis from front bumper to rear bumper was stripped and painted in Steel-It. Every single heim joint, rod end and uni-ball was replaced with new FK components.
The swingset steering was completely disassembled. The steering box was shipped to Minhworx in Phoenix where it was rebuilt and updated by Minh. The heims and swinger bushings were all replaced with new components. The hydraulic fluid was flushed and bled properly.
The rear end was completely disassembled and rebuilt with all new seals and bearings for the big 3.25 Jamar hubs. The jumbo 36 spline axles were inspected. Also added a drain plug for easy service in the future. Painted the housing in Steel-It black, the diff in Steel-It grey, and topped off with fluid.
The shocks were taken to Cox Shocks and completely rebuilt. The coil over shock bodies were cerakoted in black to match the powder coated bypass shocks. The coil springs were all powder coated in Eibach silver. All bushings, seals and wear items were replaced with new components. All valving specs and spring rates were documented.
We wanted all the wheels to have the same lug pattern. KL Fab was in process of releasing a new hub adapter(not a wheel adapter) to convert adapt from the factory hub to an adapter that mounted the brake rotor and converted the lug pattern to trophy truck 6x6.5. This was perfect timing for our rehab. Added 5/8 studs to match the rear. Now all wheels match.
The lower control arms originally were not designed to accept 4.0 shocks, so the rod ends had been ground down to fit. At the recommendation of Kevin from HM, we modified the pockets, plated in chromoly and install new rod ends. Proper.
Crossmembers where the LCA mounts are a weak point on these trucks. Using an original design idea from HM, we put our own spin on it, Mejia boxed in the whole pivot are, essentially making it bullet proof. Its all enclosed, no water can get it, so no corrosion.
